Continuing on the theme of existence in the city in New Landmark, Tsang shifts his focus from public space to the relatively closed spaces of interior and underground tunnel. The spectacle mode of viewing in his previous works is elevated to a more distinct perception. Through the combination of light boxes, televisions, sand paper and videos, the spectacle mode of viewing in his previous works is elevated to a more distinct perception. The works featured in this exhibition stem from Tsang’s astute capture of the absurdity and powerlessness of city life. Through a series of photography and video installations, the artist creates an effectual link between physical contradictions and material efficiency, which reveals the paralysis and aphasia of the individual against the tremendous social mechanisms at work.
