Over the course of seven years, artist Eason Tsang documented the construction of the M+ building. This series of five aerial photographs, taken between 2018 and 2022, traces the gradual evolution of the structure from its early construction phases to its final completion. The bird’s-eye shots invite scrutiny of the building’s material components and architectural design. They also reveal the distinctive organic forms of the museum’s verdant rooftop. Tsang’s images show the transformation of a restricted worksite into an urban garden for the public, capturing shifting boundaries and suggesting how the landscape design might guide visitor movements.
